A juvenile, arrested in the Delhi high court blast case, has given a statement before a magistrate under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). A statement under this section is admissible as evidence in court.
His statement was recorded on Wednesday. He is accused of sending an email that claimed responsibility for the blast. The blast claimed 15 lives and left more than 70 people injured.
Another arrested accused in the case, Amir Abbas Dev, has also agreed to record his statement before a magistrate. He has been produced before a special judge for cases being probed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). His statement will be recorded on Friday.
Both the accused are from Kishtwar in J&K. The mail was sent from a cyber café in Kishtwar a few hours after the blast took place. Besides a juvenile and Amir Abbas Dev, the NIA has arrested two more persons — one of them is a resident of Kishtwar, while the other has been identified as Wasim Akram Malik, a medical student in Bangladesh.
