The Delhi high court on Friday gave its stamp of approval to the BRT stretch between Ambedkar Nagar and Moolchand, saying it was in public interest and conformed to Master Plan 2021.

The Delhi high court on Friday gave its stamp of approval to the BRT stretch between Ambedkar Nagar and Moolchand, saying it was in public interest and conformed to Master Plan 2021. The court dismissed a petition filed by an NGO Nyay Bhoomi which had sought a review of the court’s October 18 order in which it had rejected a plea to scrap the project.

This came after the Delhi Government submitted to the court that the stretch was 45 feet wide and so conformed with the master plan.

Typographical error
“We… correct the typographic mistake in paragraph 12 of our decision by directing that reference to 100 feet in paragraph 12 of our decision would be read as 150 feet,” said a bench headed by Justice Pradeep Nandrajog.

“I had relied on the judgment which said 45 metres was equal to 100 feet. But it has been corrected as 150 feet. But even now I feel the stretch is narrow and at many places merely 30 metres. I will go to the Supreme Court,” said Col B B Sharan, the president of the NGO said.
