It was success all the way for Mudit Kalra. When he logged on to the Internet to check his Class XII result, he had definitely not expected what he found. Along with the 90.2 per cent in the Class XII board exams, he had topped the Delhi list in the physically-disabled category. Mudit is like any other child of his age, but suffers from hearing impairment.

A student of St Mark’s Senior Secondary School, Meera Bagh, the topper surely gave his friends, family and teachers a happy day. Sincere, obedient and studious is how Mudit’s father describes him, adding that it was just half the battle won. Mudit’s wish to get through Sukhdev College to pursue a BBS course will add cherry to the cake.

“I have never let my problem with hearing interfere with my life and I will make sure that it does not hamper my career,” said Mudit. He wants to pursue a Bachelors degree and then go on to get a degree in management.
