Besides the expected batch of freshers, Delhi University will welcome an unlikely guest on campus next week.
University officials have confirmed US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will visit DU on Monday morning and address students on youth-related issues.
“Hillary Clinton has been invited for a lecture at the university's Convention Hall in Old Viceregal Lodge on the morning of July 20,” said Prem Kumar Katarmal, assistant registrar, DU, refusing to divulge further details.
“Clinton is likely to be in the capital from the later half of July 19 till the next day. When she spends a day here, she'll will visit Delhi University," said Raja Bhattacharya, press advisor, US embassy.
“We do not know what she will talk about, but the message is expected to be directed at the youth," Bhattacharya said. "It will probably be a lecture on education and youth issues."
Security on the campus will be beefed for the high-profile visit.
“Appropriate security measures will be maintained as is done for any secretary of state’s visit,” said Bhattacharya.
