The fairly recent social networking-induced resurrection of his childhood infatuation preceded the end of his professional aspirations and even his life.

Saurav Aggarwal, whose untimely death will remain mired in a mystery till his autopsy report comes through, had parted ways with the 23-year-old woman eight years ago who now happens to be the sole witness to his tragic end.

Then the couple bumped into each other on the web last year. "She has told the police that they knew each other since class ten but I never met her or even heard about her from Saurav," maintained the deceased electronic engineer's father, Bajrang Lal Aggarwal.

"When confronted with this fact, she claimed they had been out of touch briefly before they found each other on Facebook." However, a man who claimed to be the girl's uncle and refused to divulge his identity, claimed Saurav's family knew about the couple.

Having quit his job at a Noida-based firm just ten days ago to prepare for his civil services examination, a fact his family attributed to his 'dedication' towards a prosperous career, Saurav — as per police claims — seemed to have been more than friends with her.

So much so, that he had introduced himself as the 22-year-old DU law graduate's husband to the landlord of the third-floor flat below which he was found in a pool of blood on Monday morning.

"We've seen his body — he had tears in his eyes and scratches all over his hands, face and chest. We're not saying who murdered him or whether it was a murder at all but he had no reason to kill himself. And even if he did, would he have scratched himself before jumping off a building?" asked Krishna Kumar Aggarwal, Saurav's uncle.
