Hoax callers caused panic again in the Capital after the Noida Police got a call that the Uttam Nagar and Rajiv Chowk Metro station would be blown up.

The Delhi Police and teams of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) carried out combing operations at the two stations for more than one and a half hour before declaring it a false alarm.

According to the Delhi Police, their counterparts in Noida informed them about the call. Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Sharad Aggarwal said: “Dog squad and bomb squad were immediately sent to the spot. We cordoned off the area till the call was declared hoax.”

The Noida Police has registered a case and have incorporated technical surveillance to catch the perpetrators. Security at the Metro stations in Noida was also intensified; checking by anti-sabotage squad was carried out till late evening.
