The week began on a hot note for Delhiites on Monday with the mercury registering above average levels for this time of the season. The rest of the week too will offer little respite, the weatherman said.
The maximum temperature was recorded two notches above average at 40.3°C while the minimum was a notch above average at 25.5°C, an official of the India Meteorological Department said. The weather remained dry, with maximum humidity reaching 54%, and hot winds blew throughout the day.
Similar weather is expected Tuesday. “The sky will remain clear on Tuesday and the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 41°C and 25.5°C, respectively,” the official said, adding, “Hot winds will continue and day temperatures will be above 40°C.”
