Having her both parents and brother from the science background, Rene Sharanya Verma has topped Delhi region in the humanities stream with an aggregate of 98%.

This head girl of KR Mangalam School has scored full marks in Psychology, 99 in Political Science and Economics, 97 in History and 95 marks in English.

Nobody in her house forced her to follow the tradition of science. In fact, she was allowed to follow her heart and she has made them proud.

"People need to change the perception that humanities is pursued by those who can't get into science or commerce. I had high grades in class 10 but I had already decided that I will study humanities no matter what," she said.

"I am very grateful that Rene got her due. She worked very hard. She is an ideal daughter. I am in a fairyland right now," said her mother Sharine Pai Verma.

Calling herself a 'master juggler', Rene's interest lies in writing, poetry, debating and rapping. She wants to study Political Science or History from Delhi University. In the future she sees herself as a documentary filmmaker and making movies, which makes a difference to the world.
