The process for selecting the successor of Delhi Metro chief E Sreedharan has finally begun. Come Friday, the final interview of the short listed candidates will take place at Metro Bhawan.
Six candidates have been short listed for the top post. They will be interviewed on Friday evening and within a few days the new chief’s name will be announced, said sources.
The six candidates, out of 35 applicants, who have met all the requisite criteria, include two senior officers from DMRC and four from Indian Railways.
“One of them will be selected as the managing director of Delhi Metro who would replace Sreedharan on January 1. Sreedharan who served Delhi Metro for past 16 years will retire in December,” said a source.
