More than a year after 12 of his co-workers were run over by a speeding Honda City on the Safdurjung Flyover, Pankaj Kumar Yadav, 24, still shudders when reminded of the night.
“We were doing some renovation work on the Safdurjung flyover when the car came out of nowhere and killed four of our group,” said Yadav, a resident of Bihar’s Motihari district.
The errant vehicle was being driven by Shahid Khan, 25, a resident of Alwar in Rajasthan. “I heard the accused driver was released on bail. Since then I haven’t been able to meet the eyes of Abhinandan’s (the 14-year-old who died in the incident) parents who had sent him to Delhi under my care,” he said.
