A recording of a telephonic conversation between Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal and former AAP MLA from Rohini has surfaced which indicates that the party chief tried to get Congress MLAs to leave the party and lend them outside support. Hindustan Times speaks to Rajesh Garg on the issue.
When did this conversation take place?
The conversation happened in the first week of July. Arvind Kejriwal called me — I have never called him — at 6.30 in the morning. I haven’t been to the party office after July. I clearly told the party I did not want to contest elections.
Did you leak the recording to media?
I raised this in the party forum. At the time of candidate selection, there was a lot of strife within the party. I had also raised questions. I said that Arvind Kejriwal had indulged in unethical practices. At that time, Kumar Vishwas had asked me to keep quiet unless I had proof. I sent him this clip as proof. That night, two television channels came to me to ask for the clip. I did not leak the clip.
Who do you blame for the current mess that the party finds itself in?
Dilip Pandey, Ashish Khetan, Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh and Ashutosh. Yadav and Bhushan are the ones asking valid questions and you want to silence them. If you think I am wrong, take action against me.
Some people have raised question about the authenticity of the clip.
If they think the tape is false, file an FIR and get it authenticated. I have other clips of Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh as well.
