A 47-year-old Air Force officer has become the latest victim of road rage in the national Capital.

Wing Commander Arjun Sen was attacked by four youths after his car brushed past their car in south Delhi's posh Vasant Kunj area.

The incident took place around 7.30pm on Wednesday when Sen was returning with his family to the air force station from Ambience Mall, said a police officer.

Police said when Sen's car reached near the Syndicate bank ATM on Rajokri road in Vasant Kunj, a speeding Alto that was crossing the road hit it from the front. Instead of stopping and apologising, the driver of the Alto tried to escape.

When Sen confronted him, the driver reversed his car and halted near Sen's car. A youth got out and started hurling abuses at him. He started a scuffle and was soon joined by four other occupants of the car - all in their 20s. They punched and kicked Sen, said a police officer.

Some passerby and Sen's family rescued him. A crowd that had gathered at the spot managed to catch one of the accused while the others managed to escape.

One of the passersby informed the police.

Sen's colleagues from the Air Force station also reached the spot. He was taken to the Air Force hospital and given first-aid.

Vasant Kunj police arrested one of the miscreants, Sandeep Yadav, from the spot. The police have registered a case against the accused. Others were also arrested later upon information given the first accused.
