The South Delhi Police is banking heavily on the description of the alleged Dhaula Kuan rapists given by the victim. However, traumatised by the ordeal, the 30-year-old woman from Mizoram has not been able to give the police much information to make a sketch of the third accused.

The victim works for a BPO in Gurgaon and was allegedly abducted from Dhaula Kuan and gangraped by five men on Wednesday in a moving pick-up truck.

The victim managed to give the police the description of two of the accused before she found it difficult to go any further.

“She went out of her way to help us. But as she is suffering from a massive trauma she is not able to give us much information about the third accused. We are, however, working on every lead possible,” said a senior police officer.

The sketches of two accused have been spread all over Delhi, NCR and other states. The police have also rounded up some known bad characters from different areas in the city. They are concentrating more on Outer Delhi as the accused dumped the victim there.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) HGS Dhaliwal said, “We have rounded up a number of members of different gangs. We have also got a few leads in the case but we cannot discuss them.”

The police have also collected the data of the cellphones operating in the area at the time of the incident. “We are trying to zero in on some numbers that were active at that time,” added the officer. The accused might be working for a tent house and might have tried to commit similar crimes earlier, police said.
