The Union home ministry will send a fresh list of the most-wanted fugitives to Pakistan after completing its review in two weeks. The ministry decided to revise the list after finding two “most wanted” fugitives in India.

According to sources, so far no new error has been detected in the list.

The list is being scrutinised by various government agencies after two most-wanted fugitives — Wazhul Kamar Khan and Feroz Abdul Rashid Khan — were found in India. Feroz had been arrested last year and is behind bars in the Arthur Road jail, while Wazhul Kamar Khan was found living in Mumbai after he was released on bail last year.

The list was given to Pakistan in the last home secretary-level talks held in March this year. There were reports that Pakistan has sought clarification from India on the list of 50 most-wanted fugitives after Wazhul and Feroz were found traced back to India.

But so far no such communication has reached the home ministry. Sources also added that similar lists have been handed over Pakistan for many years now but it has never acted on those lists.

A similar review of the list of wanted-accused against whom Red Corner notices have been issued by the Interpol is being made by the CBI as well.

The CBI had withdrawn the list after it was not found to be not updated in many cases.
