Indraprastha School, Dwarka celebrates its Annual Day

Indraprastha International School, Dwarka, celebrated Annual Day at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium.

The chief guest on the occasion was Chief Minister of Government of NCT, Delhi, Sheila Dikshit while Sugeeswara Senadhira, Minister Counsellor, Sri Lanka High Commission, was the guest of honour.

Mrs and Mr A S Rana, chairperson and chairman of the school and Dr Rajesh Hassija, director and principal, among other dignitaries were present. About 1300 students were on the stage for this event which included a kaleidoscope of drama, light, sound and music. The chief guest gave prizes to the achievers and also released the annual school magazine, ‘Vision 2011.’

St Columbus School, Faridabad, organised ‘The Benediction Ceremony ’ to motivate the school cricket team which will participate in the International Inter School Triangular Cricket Series in Dubai.

The students welcomed the Chief Guest Avtar Singh Bhadana, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Special Guest Praveen Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Faridabad, Sunil Beniwal, Metropolitan Magistrate and the Guest of honour, Sunita Singh, Mountaineer of 2011.

The programme started with the lighting of the lamp followed by the welcome speech presented by Principal. The students performed the cultural programme to make the evening colourful. The ceremony concluded with the vote of thanks by the school Principal Sangeeta Bhati.

Suncity World School, Gurgaon, organised a sitar recital by Pandit Prateek Chaudhuri, as a part of Spic Macay endeavour to infuse knowledge of Indian classical music in students.

DPS, Sushant Lok & Blue Bells International also attended this event.

Pandit Chaudhuri threw light on the subject of the raagas and their association with different time of the day.

The sitar recital was based on raag gujari todi, maseet khani and chota khayal gat in teen taal 16 beats.

The programme was a learning experience for the students as it opened new horizons for them.

The artists were felicitated by the Principal, Rupa Chakravarty.

Vidya Bal Bhawan Senior Secondary School, Mayur Vihar Phase III celebrated Annual Day function ‘Achilles’.

The chief guest on the occasion was Chief Minister of Delhi Mrs Sheila Dikshit and Sandeep Dikshit Member of Parliament, East Delhi was the Guest of Honour.

The chief guest lit the lamp and enjoyed the Eco Friendly dance based on environmental awareness which depicted the successful implementation of Bhagidari programme.

The event began with Saraswati Vandana and was followed by dance based on the theme ‘Incredible India’ which depicted the rich culture, religious and ethical values of India. The emphasis on ‘Nari Shakti’ and ‘Importance of women’ was laid upon.

The school orchestra mesmerised the audience.

The achievers of academics excellence for the session 2010-11 were awarded. The Chief Guest congratulated the Principal Dr SV Sharma and Manager Dr HD Sharma.
