The Jamia Millia Islamia launched an online tracking system to help students get information about their status of application, test centres and interview dates on Monday.

"Jamia Millia Islamia is the first university in India to have introduced a new facility for online tracking of information concerning admissions," said Simi Malhotra, university spokesperson.

"This year, we received 29,000 applications for the BTech course for 350 seats. Keeping this in mind, we developed the system to manage the workload effectively," she added.

Applicants can log in and seek information through their name or roll number.

The university introduced the online tracking facility to tackle the large number of queries regarding the status of applicants, test centres allotted to candidates, applicants called for interview and selected/wait-listed candidates. The system was developed by FTK Centre for Information Technology.
