Jamia Millia Islamia has already sold more than 7,000 admission forms within two days. The forms for admission into all its courses at both the Bachelor's and Master's levels went on sale on Friday.
The prospectus and application forms can be obtained on all working days at the counters of Maktaba Jamia Limited located on Jamia campus.
They can also be downloaded from the university's website jmi.ac.in.
The university has also introduced three new courses at the post-graduate level, all of which follow the semester system. These are M.Tech in earthquake engineering, Master's in architecture, and MA in early childhood development.
The university is also offering a diploma in Catalan language. "We started offering a certificate course in the European language last year. Now there is a diploma course too," the university's spokesperson said.
Admission to all its courses is through an entrance test, the number of which have come down significantly this year following the introduction of common entrance tests.
"Students, who applied to more than one course, used to appear for a number of tests. The common entrance tests will help get rid of this problem. It will save time," said the university spokesperson.
The university has also decided to reintroduce the BA Programme, which was discontinued last year. The course has been restructured and the number of seats has also gone down from 190 in 2009 to 50 from this academic session.
However, the plan to have the semester system for its undergraduate courses has been postponed to next year.
Admission to B Tech courses, one of the most popular courses, in the university has also undergone a slight change with the introduction of OMR forms.
These forms can either be bought from the university campus or downloaded from the university website.
