The Faridabad police on Friday arrested a juvenile for eve-teasing and beating two teenage girls. Two of the arrested juvenile’s accomplices are still on the run and the police are looking for them.

The two girls—Neelu and Sakshi (names changed)—were returning from a tuition class on a two-wheeler when the three youths stopped them and asked the girls if they would be friends with them. When the girls refused, the boys beat them up. One of the girls received burn injuries on her leg when it came in contact with the hot silencer of the two-wheeler.

When the boys let them go, the girls, both class 12 students, were so terrified that initially they didn’t want to lodge a police complaint against the youth.

However, later the girls mustered their courage and lodged a complaint on the basis of which police registered a case on Friday.

“It is a case of eve-teasing. We are taking it seriously and have registered a case against the accused,” DCP Central Paral Kush Jain said.

The cops said that Shyam (name changed), 17, a class 12 student of a renowned school in Faridabad was arrested and produced before the court on Saturday, which granted him bail.
