A special CBI court on Saturday deferred its order on the bail application of DMK MP Kanimozhi, Kalaignar TV director Sharad Kumar and Cineyug Films promoter Karim Morani till May 20.
The Special CBI judge OP Saini said: “Order on the bail applications, filed by Kanimozhi Karunanithi and Sharad Kumar, not ready due to paucity of time.”
After pronouncing the date of bail order, the judge smiled and called Kanimozhi along with other accused to mark their presence in the court.
CBI prosecutor AK Singh speaking with mediapersons said, “There is nothing suspicious about order not being pronounced today. As per court, the order on their application is not ready.”
Kanimozhi was flanked by her husband Aravindan and DMK parliamentary minister TR Baalu, and scores of DMK supporters were present around her. She was seen in comfort and was busy chatting with former telecom minister A Raja and her husband. When this reporter asked her about her role in receiving kickbacks, she replied, “No comments.”
Making a family day inside the courtroom, Raja's wife along with the entire family visited him.
Raja happily cuddled his daughter and son, and was seen exchanging pleasing gestures with his family and other DMK supporters, who had come to the court.
