Kejriwal blames Modi for arrests in ‘fake cases’
The Aam Aadmi Party hit out at the central government on Sunday over the arrest of its MLA Amanatullah Khan and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi hated Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Blaming the Prime Minister squarely for the arrest, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said on Twitter, “Just in - Modi ji arrests one more AAP MLA. Anandiben sends Dalits and Patidars to jail in fake cases in Gujarat, Modi ji sends Delhiites to jail in fake cases. Delhi and Gujarat will fight together.” (sic)
AAP Delhi convener Dilip Pandey said Modi had failed to handle his opponents politically and was ‘misusing’ the Anti-Corruption Branch, Central Bureau of Investigation and the Delhi Police. This showed, he tweeted, that Modi is only afraid of Arvind Kejriwal.
Khan is the thirteenth AAP MLA against whom an FIR has been lodged. He is the eleventh to be arrested.

Pandey also said the Aam Aadmi Party had released a ‘sting’ video of the complainant in the case on Saturday. The video, he said, showed that the complainant was coached by the Delhi Police and was asked to trump up charges against Khan. Hindustan Times has not established the authenticity of the video.
The video, allegedly of the complainant, is of her having a conversation with a man. The woman is heard telling the man that she had spoken to Khan over the phone and he had not threatened her. It was the police, she says in the video, who asked her to file charges of intimidation against him.
