A 10-year-old boy who was allegedly kidnapped on Sunday evening was found dead in Faridabad. Faridabad police arrested a relative of the boy for murder.
Police said accused Pradeep Kumar Goel was in debt after suffering huge losses in his business. He has a shop selling readymade garments in Sector 28, Faridabad.
He was held with the body during a routine check near Sarai-Khawaja at 1:30 am. Police stopped Goel’s car and found the body of the boy on the backseat. Goel was allegedly looking for a place to dispose off the body.
Gulshan, a class 1 student, lived with his parents in West Kanti Nagar in east Delhi.
He was kidnapped from outside his residence. His father Mahender Jain, who too has a garment business, approached the police at 7.30 pm on Sunday.
Police said Goel did not intend to kill the child but was forced to strangulate him because he was continuously crying.
DCP Central Faridabad Sheshank Anand said: “The accused has confessed to have kidnapped the boy for ransom.”
He allegedly killed the boy with the help of some accomplices. Police are interrogating him to nab the accomplices.
