The woman, whose headless body was found last week, was killed by his live-in partner because she was pregnant and was forcing him to marry her, the police said.

The police arrested Yogesh Sharma, the victim's boyfriend, and two others — Ajay and Vinay Kumar — in connection with the brutal killing. Yogesh, along with his accomplices, strangulated Pooja, cut off her head and chopped the body into eight pieces. He then packed it in a plastic sack and dumped it near the Inderlok Metro station. The body had been found early on Saturday morning.

"Yogesh disclosed that he was in a live-in relationship with Pooja for the past two years. Recently, Pooja had got pregnant and was insisting that Yogesh marry her but he wanted to get rid of her," IB Rani, DCP (north) said.

"On March 16, he strangulated Pooja and cut her body into several pieces. Her head was also chopped off and burnt,” Rani added.

"YS was tattoed on the victim's hand and we got to know that one Yogesh had tried to lodge a missing person’s complaint regarding Pooja. Connecting the dots, we zeroed-in on Yogesh," Rani added.
