Delhi police have arrested the alleged kingpin of an inter-state auto-lifters' gang and recovered six stolen bikes.
Suraj Khan alias Shoaib, 28, who is from Thoubal district in Manipur, was arrested on May 24 at Nelson Mandela Road during a special drive by police to check late night rash driving.
The accused was arrested after he confessed that his motorcycle was a stolen one and he has been involved in eight auto theft cases.
Five other stolen bikes have also been recovered at his instance, police said, adding that efforts were on to arrest his accomplices, Majid and Sohail.
The accused revealed that he used to dispose of stolen motorcycles in north-eastern states by transporting them through railways, police said, adding that fake documents were used in their transportation.
