Requesting the police to lodge an FIR, former commissioner of the unified Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) KS Mehra, has filed a complaint at the Tilak Marg police station against his ex-wife Vimla Mehra, director general (prisons), and Supreme Court advocate Manoj Gorkela on Monday.

As evidence, the former IAS officer has submitted two CDs containing recorded conversations between advocate Gorkela and him and his ex-wife and him.

When contacted, KS Mehra said his ex-wife and her lawyer were threatening him. “The complaint has been filed. Now the police should take the necessary action by registering an FIR under Sections 120B, 388/385 and 506 of the IPC. I have given CDs which contain threatening statements and this is enough an evidence,” Mehra said.

He also alleged that earlier on October 19, 2012, he had filed a police complaint. “However, no FIR was lodged and they had cited lack of evidence as the reason. That shouldn’t be a problem this time,” the former MCD commissioner said.

When contacted, Vimla Mehra told HT, “He faces arrest in a cheating case I had filed against him and the hearing in that case is nearing in. So, he is attempting to deflect the pressure from that by lodging the police complaint against me. The CDs submitted by him are quiet old.”

Her lawyer Manoj Gorkela couldn’t be reached for comments.

Earlier this month, KS Mehra was granted bail by a Delhi court in a criminal case of cheating and other charges lodged by his ex-wife. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Raj Kumar Tripathi had granted bail on furnishing of a personal bond of Rs. 50,000 with one security of the same amount.
