A 60-year-old labourer was arrested on Monday for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl at her home in Naraina. The accused has been identified as one Sachendra.
“The victim’s parents told us that they had hired Sachendra to whitewash their house. On Sunday evening, they had gone out for some work and left their daughter behind. After finding the victim alone in the house, the accused raped her and fled,” said the police officer.
The medical examination of the victim confirmed rape. Sachendra has been sent to judicial custody.
In another incident, four persons were held for allegedly raping a 25-year-old woman a week ago in Shahbad Dairy area.
The arrested persons were identified as Pawan, Praveen, Bheel and a minor boy. All four are residents of Sonepat in Haryana.
Police said Pawan was in an illicit relationship with the complainant for five years. The woman, too, hails from Sonepat but currently stays in central Delhi’s Ranjit Nagar.
A senior police officer said the arrests were made following investigation into the case lodged on February 11. In her complaint, the woman had alleged that Pawan owed her some money. That evening, Pawan asked her to meet him near Khera Khurd canal at the pretext of returning her money.
“She went there and found Pawan with other three men in a car. She sat in their car and after some time, an argument broke out between them after which the woman made a PCR call regarding being raped,” a senior police officer said.
