Terming the NSG waiver as a historic occasion for India, Railways Minister Lalu Prasad said Saturday's event will be written in golden letters in the history of the country.
"I congratulated the Prime Minister for this successful NSG waiver which would enable the country to produce sufficient energy fulfilling the need of all, including farmers and next generation," Prasad said after meeting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the evening.
Prasad also congratulated all allies who supported the government to achieve the deal.
Referring to the Left opposition to the deal, he said "Our Left brothers will be realising now that what mistake they have committed."
Taking a potshot at the BJP, the RJD supremo said that with the successful NSG waiver, "people are ecstatic for the deal while BJP men are beating their hearts now."
Prasad, however, thanked Brajesh Mishra, the former National Security Advisor during NDA regime for his stand on the N-deal.
