The interaction was organised to discuss the grievances of the students against the administration.

The aim was to address their issues and find effective solutions for the same.

Late declaration of results, incorrect results and mass failures were some of the biggest problems the students faced. They had been complaining of these much before the interaction was scheduled.

"I am a student of Sanskrit Hons. at Kamla Nehru College. All the students in the second semester in my college have failed in the concurrent qualifying language. The same thing had happened with the students of Hindi, but in their case, marks were reviewed and corrected later. No such thing has been done for us despite our repeated requests," shared a Delhi University student.

Many others have had similar stories to tell. "There are close to 5 lakh students studying in the university currently (including those enrolled at the School of Open Learning). This means that in one semester there are almost 20 lakh examination copies to correct. The numbers are huge. We are trying to develop a software that will be able to handle these numbers, but currently, it is not free of issues of its own. We will try to sort out these problems by next year," assured Singh.

Students also complained of lack of good infrastructure and reported poor hygiene in their colleges.

An issue that was raised especially by students whose colleges were off-campus included lack of inadequate transport facilities and safety.

"Getting home from college is a problem for us because we are always scared of eve teasing . We want the university to start a bus service for us," said a student from Gargi College.

The vice chancellor will hold a similar interaction with the parents as well on Sunday at 3 pm.
