The Dwarka doctor couple accused of locking up their 13-year-old domestic help at home while leaving on a holiday to Thailand was on Wednesday tracked down in the capital and arrested.
The couple and their daughter had left for Thailand on March 25. Four days later, the domestic help was rescued from their apartment in Dwarka sector 6.
The girl told the police she was starving as the couple left her food for only two days. She alleged the family used to beat her up, give only two chappatis a day to eat and didn’t pay salary.
“We will take the couple to their Dwarka house to collect evidence,” said AK Ojha, DCP (southwest).
Another officer said: “We suspected the couple might try to tamper with evidence. The help had alleged her movement inside the house was tracked on CCTV. If that’s true, the hard disc of the camera could prove crucial.”
