Two men have been arrested on charges of trying to kill a man whose brother had killed their sibling in an apparent gang war in northeast Delhi in June, police said.
Naiem (35) and Danish (26) barged into the office of advocate Ahmed Ali in Shahdra on June 23 and fired several rounds of bullets at him and his two friends, said an officer.
“Ahmed and his friend Intezar were injured. The assailants fled on the motorcycles,” said an officer. Ahmed and the others, however, did not lodge a complaint.
“On interrogation we found out that the attackers intended to avenge the death of their sibling who was murdered by Ahmed’s brother,” an officer said.
About two months back Naiem’s brother Salim was killed in Bhajan Pura and Ahmed Ali’s brother Irshad Khan was involved in it, said Jaspal Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast).
Naiem and Danish both have criminal background.
