Gagan Singh alias Sonu, a driver by profession, was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly murdering 18-year-old Gautam on Saturday. Sonu had called Gautam on his cell phone on November 5, after which the latter never returned home.
The police probed whether there could be any love angle to the murder and got to know that was in a relationship with a girl, who was involved with Sonu.
“Gautam had seen the girl and Sonu getting intimate. The girl told Sonu that Gautam would complain to his father. After sometime, Sonu saw Gautam going towards a field, where he strangled the latter,” BS Jaiswal, DCP, Outer Delhi, said.
