A 50-year-old housemaid was today found dead under mysterious circumstances in her employer's house in south Delhi this morning with police suspecting that two other domestic helps might have murdered her.
Rambeti, who was employed three days ago, was found murdered on the third floor of Devendra Kumar Jain's Green Park residence by her son Jagdish who was searching for her since last night.
Chetan, a 20-year-old domestic help of the Jains, has been detained in connection with her death, while another person is absconding, a senior police official said.
Victim's son Jagdish has alleged that she was murdered by the Jain family.
She used to live in Chattarpur area. Jagdish used to bring her and take her back. Yesterday, when Jagdish came to pick her up, he was told by the Jain family that she had left for home.
When Rambeti did not return, Jagdish lodged a case, saying she was missing. Today, he again came to her employer's residence and looked for her mother. He found her dead in a vacant room on the third floor of the house, a senior police officer said.
Angry relatives of Rambeti also pelted stones at Jain's residence.
"The body was found on the third floor of the residence. It is not clear whether it is a murder or suicide. We are awaiting post mortem report," the officer said.
