The Delhi government has asked the members of Parliament and legislative assembly to put up notice boards in respective areas giving details on the money being spent by them on development projects under the local area development fund.
The government has appointed the public works department as the nodal agency.
While the MCD followed the orders issued by the central information commission (CIC) in February, the Delhi government has been seeking extensions.
Information commissioner Shailesh Gandhi on June 8 had flayed the government for taking so much time “for a simple work such as this”. He had then directed the chief secretary to personally take stock of the situation and expedite the process of installing the boards before July 25.
