The man, identified as Mangal Singh, work as an electrician with the Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) and had climbed the tower on Tuesday night, a police officer said. Singh agreed to come down only if a television channel was called to the scene, he added.

He slept there the entire night and woke up on Wednesday when he felt thirsty.
