In a unique case, a city-based businessman has lodged a complaint against his wife, alleging that she hacked his Gmail and Yahoo accounts, morphed his photographs and sent them to his friends and relatives, police said.

The complaint was lodged at the Rohini north police station a few days ago. It was found that the mails were sent from a computer at the complainant’s in-laws’ house. A case has been registered under Section 43 of the Information Technology Act against unknown people as investigators are yet to find out the culprit.

The businessman’s wife lives at her parents’ house in Pitampura. The couple, who got married around three years ago, has already filed a divorce petition, police said.

“The complainant learnt that some objectionable photographs were sent from his email ID from his friends. He said his photographs had been morphed. Since the offence was related to IT, the matter was sent to the economic offences wing (EOW) of the crime branch,” said a police officer requesting not to named.

Investigators traced the IP address of the computer, used to send the e-mails, at the house of the complainant’s in-laws, he said. “Further investigation will be carried out by the local police,” said the officer.
