Man fires in air over parking issue

delhi Updated: Nov 18, 2011 00:34 IST

A personal security officer (PSO) of a businessman fired three bullets in the air with his licenced revolver after a fight broke out between his employer and another businessman over parking in south Delhi’s Mehrauli.

The incident took place around 11pm on Wednesday at a marriage function at Tivoli Gardens.

The police have arrested the PSO, identified as Sachinder Kumar, for allegedly attempting to endanger lives. Kumar’s .32 bore revolver has also been seized. Kumar and his employer Subhash Gulati — a resident of Defence Colony — had gone to attend a marriage function at Tivoli Gardens where another marriage party was being hosted by one Pawan Arora.

“The altercation broke out when Arora’s cousin, while trying to reverse his Scorpio SUV into an empty parking slot, accidentally scratched Gulati’s Mercedes,” said a senior police officer.

It was only after the police reached the spot that the fight could be contained. A case has been registered at the Mehrauli police station.
