A 23-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly posing as a Delhi Police constable attached with the security wing of the Prime Minister and using a forged security pass to get favours.

The accused, Vikas, hailing from Haryana’s Sonepat, was apprehended at the Singhu border picket in Outer Delhi on Sunday when he approached police personnel and sought their favour to allow his cousin to carry passengers from the border to Haryana illegally.

“He introduced himself as a constable of Delhi Police and produced an identity card of Delhi Police (PM Security). Prima facie, the card produced by Vikas appeared to be forged,” said DCP (Outer) Chhaya Sharma.

He later told police that he had worked as a labourer with one Rajpal, a contractor who used to take contracts for the maintenance of parks the Prime Minister to visited.
