A 21-year-old man was stabbed to death by a youth after an altercation broke out between them over Rs 10 in Khayala in west Delhi on Wednesday.

The victim identified as Ajju alias Mogli, was a resident of Raghubir Nagar area in west Delhi. The police have arrested the accused, identified as Ajay and his two friends — Tara Chand and Vishal. Ajju was stabbed six times with a knife by the accused, who allegedly snatched Rs 30 from him.

V Renganathan, ACP (west) said, “Ajay claimed that Ajju had borrowed Rs 500 from him a couple of months ago. Despite repeated requests, Ajju failed to return the money. On the fateful night, the victim was returning home on a cycle rickshaw when the youths waylaid him.”

“Ajju expressed his inability to return the money and this infuriated Ajay, who took out three currency notes of Rs 10 denomination from his pocket,” the officer said. An argument broke out between them. The victim requested Ajay to return Rs 10, as he needed to pay the fare. But Ajay stabbed him, the official said.
