*BJP and Shiv Sena MPs disrupted proceedings in Lok Sabha to protest a rally in Mumbai against the ethnic violence in Assam turning violent last week.
*Trouble started during Zero Hour with Shiv Sena members waving copies of party mouthpiece Saamna that alleged that the violence was caused by ‘fanatic jehadis’.
*They were supported by the BJP MPs, who joined their allies to demand dismissal of the Prithviraj Chavan government.
*Government sources later said some political leaders were being probed for their role in the Mumbai protests.
*Sources said Centre did anticipate anger in minorities following the Assam violence and advised states to “reach out” to them.

*Members of BJP, BJD and SP referred to instances of growing violence and harassment of minorities in Pakistan and demanded that Parliament should adopt a resolution condemning it
*The concern was voiced in the wake of around 150 Hindus crossing over to India from Pakistan via the Attari border on Sunday due to alleged harassment in Sindh province.
