Reiterating the stand of the BJP-led Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) against the trifurcation of the civic body as proposed by the Delhi government, Delhi mayor Rajni Abbi said she has written to the Prime Minister and the home minister demanding the rejection of the decision.
"I've written to the Prime Minister enumerating our disagreements with the Delhi government's plans and I'm waiting for an appointment with him. Also, we are in talks with lawyers and our legal experts to see to it that Delhi government's plan of trifurcating the corporation into three subservient parts is not realised. However, before that we will explore all other options including approaching various heads of Congress government," she added.
Abbi dubbed their protest against the trifurcation as a 'reasoned protest'. "Our protest is not merely based on party politics. We're not opposing the trifurcation because it is a Congress led Delhi government that is trying to break up a BJP led MCD into three parts. We are seriously concerned about the health of the civic agency after the trifurcation as according to our opinion the trifurcation defies all logic," she added.
