A logo that stood for Delhi for more than 50 years is on its way out. The fledgling civic bodies that were born with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi’s split have been asked to devise a logo each in the coming weeks.
However, the corporations have demanded they be allowed to use the old MCD logo till they come up with the new ones. The South Delhi Municipal Corporation was the first off the block with the demand.
Created by a committee in 1960 as a symbol for Delhi, the MCD logo can be seen across the city on thousands of structures. The monuments on the logo are now in the areas of different corporations.
