Taking advantage of the Wednesday morning rains; unidentified men burgled a readymade garment shop near IIT gate in Malviya Nagar area in south Delhi.

The police said the robbers broke open the glass doors of the showroom to enter, but because it was raining hard, no one heard anything.

The incident happened on Wednesday at 7am when unidentified men came in a car, parked it outside the garment showroom ‘Fusion Lady Garments’ and broke into it.

The incident came to light after other shopkeepers saw the broken shutters and informed shopowner Gurmeet Singh at 9am.

Singh then called the police and claimed that garments and shoes worth around R4 lakh and some cash was missing from the shop.

“We have registered a case and taken fingerprints from the shop and examined the crime scene thoroughly,” said a senior police officer.

A case has been registered in Malviya Nagar police station.
