Lost your belongings on the Delhi Metro? Don't worry.
Now, you can get to know whether the lost articles are lying at the station or at the 'Lost & Found' office at Kashmere Gate Metro station at the click of a mouse.
Log onto www.delhimetrorail.com, the official website of the Delhi Metro, and click on the 'Lost and Found' section on the left hand corner of the website.
Details of the articles found inside Metro trains and at stations are now being updated on the website on a daily basis.
"The list gives all the details like date, time and name of the station where the article(s) was found or handed over to DMRC staff by anyone along with its description," DMRC spokesman Anuj Dayal said.
This is an effort to help passengers to retrieve their items which they lost while traveling in the Delhi Metro, he said.
People can collect their lost items from the respective Metro stations within 24 hours of its display on the website to claim the item.
"However, the passengers who are not able to reclaim their item within 24 hrs from the station may then approach the centralised 'Lost & Found' office at Kashmere Gate Metro station," Dayal said.
DMRC sends all items found at Metro stations to its Kashmere Gate office after every 24 hours. Thereafter, they are kept in this office till bonafide claimants reclaim them.
Currently, DMRC gets about 7-10 items reported at Metro stations. Approximately 1,000 such items are lying in the Kashmere gate office at present which have found no bonafide claimant, Dayal said.
