Micromax bribery case: north municipal body suspends seven

The North Delhi Municipal Corporation on Saturday suspended seven employees, including five engineers, in connection with the bribery case involving Micromax co-founder Rajesh Agarwal.

North civic body spokesperson Yogendra Singh Mann said the order came this afternoon from the commissioner's office with immediate effect.

"The suspended employees are Rajesh Wadhwa, superintendent engineer (civil), AK Singh, executive engineer (civil), RK Sethi, assistant engineer (building), Kapil Dev, junior engineer (building), all from Civil Lines zone, and MK Gupta, assistant engineer (civil) (M-I) from Rohini zone. The two beldars from Civil Lines zone are Satish Kumar and Naresh Kumar," Mann said.

He also said that the commissioner has directed all the deputy commissioners and engineers to ensure that there is no irregularity in functioning, especially in sensitive sections such as the building department.
