The Twitter account of MoS for Communications and Information Technology Milind Deora was not working on Friday. Users who tried accessing his account got a message "The profile you are trying to view has been suspended."
"The account's getting verified hence temporarily suspended" Milind Deora told Hindustan Times when asked about the account.
On Thursday, the minister was seen tweeting his governments defense amid claims that the government was infringing on users freedom of speech on social media sites.
“Let me clarify on Twitter there is absolutely no intent of the government to curb freedom of social media platforms,” Deora tweeted from his Twitter handle @milinddeora.
Twitter was abuzz with reactions on Wednesday and Thursday with trending topics such as #Emergency2012 and #GOIblocks.
