A minor fire broke out in a children's home in outer Delhi's Alipur area on Wednesday afternoon.

Nobody was injured in the incident. According to fire department, a call was received at the control room at 3:35 pm.

"Four fire tenders were rushed to the Alipur children's home to douse the blaze. The fire originated from a room on the first floor. It took our men less than an hour to control the fire," a fire department officer said.

The inmates of the house are children aged between 6 to 12 years who, police said, escaped on their own.

A 10-year-old boy was trapped inside the toilet and rescued by fire officers. The cause of fire is not yet known.
