As the government continues its flip-flop over putting the Bluelines in order, these private-run buses injured more people on Tuesday.
In separate accidents, Bluelines hit two vehicles in the morning, the police said. The first accident happened in west Delhi at about 9 a.m. when a speeding bus hit a Maruti Van at Ghevra Mod between Nangloi and Bahadurgarh. Driver Sudhir Tyagi (22) and his brother Khushi Ram (28) were on their way to Shakurpur from Baghpat when the bus hit their vehicle, injuring them.
“Both of them sustained fractures. Driver Rajendra Singh (45) was arrested and booked for rash driving under the Indian Penal Code’s Section 279,” said a police officer.
The other accident took place in Rohini at about 11 a.m. A speeding bus hit a Lancer at DC Chowk, Sector 13, Rohini, the police said. The Blueline, plying from Janakpuri to Shahbad, hit the car’s bonnet at the busy intersection that did not have traffic signals, said the police.
“We arrested the bus driver, Mahavir Prasad, 46, and booked him for rash driving. The victim, Rajesh, 19, is a local resident and was on his way home when the incident took place,” said the officer.
