The Delhi airport witnessed lot of drama on Monday evening in what turned out to be a security mock drill. Security agencies at IGI Airport went into a tizzy after a Delhi Police PCR received a call claiming a terrorist attack at the domestic terminals.
“The information was that a vehicle laden with explosives is going to be rammed into the airport terminal,” said a CISF spokesman. A Quick Reaction team of CISF and Delhi police surrounded the ‘suspect’ vehicle and took it to the parking lot. The mock drill was to check coordination between the security agencies at the airport.
“The drill went on for an hour and was carried out with Delhi Police,” he said. The mock drill didn’t hamper flight operations or passenger movement.
