Delhiites will be able to enjoy the first set of monsoon showers a day in advance, Met officials said.
Monsoon is expected to hit the city on Tuesday, a day before the normal time.
The city has been reeling under high humidity levels coupled with power cuts for the past week. Pre-monsoon showers are also expected on Sunday and Monday.
"There are chances of moderate rainfall on both Sunday and Monday. As of now, monsoon is reaching the Capital on Tuesday," said a senior Met official.
On Saturday, the city witnessed a hot and muggy afternoon after a pleasant start to the day with light showers in some parts of the Capital.
"The maximum and minimum temperatures on Saturday hovered around 38.7 degree Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius, respectively, two degrees above average for this time of the season," the official added.
Light showers were also witnessed in some parts of the city in the morning.
"The day started off very nicely as it was raining in the morning, but as soon as the sun came out, it became hot and humid again. I wish the monsoon would come quickly," said Karan Makhija, a student of Delhi University.
On Sunday, however, the sky will remain generally cloudy with rains or thundershowers likely in some areas.
The maximum and minimum temperature will hover around 35 and 27 degrees Celsius, the Met official said.
