A day after 38-year-old Virendra Sachdeva, owner of a snacks shop, was found murdered inside his Moti Nagar house, police are waiting for his wife to give a detailed statement. Police said, statement of Aarti, Virendra's wife, is crucial as she was the only one present inside the house at the time of incident.

"She is still in a state of shock after seeing her husband being brutally killed. We were told that she is not in a condition to speak to anyone," a senior police officer said.

Since the entry to the house was friendly, police are suspecting that someone known to the couple is involved in the murder. Around 4 am on Wednesday, two assailants entered Sachdeva's house and killed him with a sharp-edged weapon.

"We are yet to find how the killers managed to enter the house. We are also questioning Sachdeva's business partners. Statement of his wife is crucial," said V Renganathan, additional commissioner of police (west).

Since two mobile phones are missing from the house, police are scanning the call details to get any clue.

"We have not ruled out any possible motive. Though we have doubts that robbery was the motive but teams are working on that angle also," a senior police officer said.

On Wednesday, the police had said that house was ransacked just to misguide the police.
