Mukhi sends legal notice to Kejriwal on his photo 'misused'

delhi Updated: Dec 26, 2014 21:43 IST

Miffed over the Aam Aadmi Party "projecting" him as BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate on its posters, senior party leader Jagdish Mukhi on Friday served a legal notice to Arvind Kejriwal for "misusing" his photo.

The posters of AAP can be spotted on auto-rickshaws in which the party is seen "projecting" Mukhi as BJP's CM candidate against Kejriwal.

"I have sent a legal notice to Kejriwal for misusing my photo without my permission. How can he project me as BJP's CM candidate despite the fact my party is yet to announce the same," Mukhi said.

BJP veteran Mukhi also said that in legal notice, he sought his views within stipulated time and if Kejriwal fails to answer, he will drag him to court over this "serious issue".

"They (AAP) have placed my photo with Arvind Kejriwal on different auto-rickshaws without my permission. BJP has not so far declared its chief ministerial candidate for the forthcoming Assembly elections, but Kejriwal is busy spreading wrong messages," the senior BJP leader added.

Earlier this month, Delhi BJP had asked Mukhi to take legal action against the Aam Aadmi Party over the issue.

"We have asked him to take cognisance of the matter because AAP is wrongly using his photo. He (Mukhi) should take legal action against the AAP," Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay had said.
